Iran cinematic project ‘Utopia’ jointly made by Afghanistan, Tajikistan, India and the UK is set to screen in Iranian cinemas soon.
The internationally acclaimed film in the Persian dubbed version will be screened in the upcoming days, a local media report said Thursday.
Afghanistan Chose ‘Utopia’ for 2015 Oscar, representing the country in the foreign-language film category at the 88th Academy Awards.
“Utopia” was an official selection at the Fajr International Film Festival in Iran, and the Malaysia International Film Festival.
Iranian producer Mohsen Ali Akbari was also involved in production of the film.
“Three intersecting stories of loneliness and isolation that centers around Janan, a woman from Afghanistan who travels to the UK,” a brief description on the film reads.
A female lead of ‘Utopia’ Martine Malalai Zikria was awarded as best actress at Delhi International Film Festival.
Iranian actor Homayoun Ershadi costars in the flick with international artists.
